The score Hans Zimmer and Roger Sayer created for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is among the most celebrated in modern cinema — vast, elemental and unlike anything recorded before. Millions have heard it. Very few have experienced what it actually means to be at the console.

The Interstellar Sessions change that.

You have heard this score. Perhaps you have even heard it live. You have not heard it like this. The Interstellar Sessions remove every layer between you and the music. You are in the room. You are at the console. The man playing is the man who recorded it. There is nothing between you and the music, and nothing between you and the person who made it. This is what it means to go beyond the event horizon — to cross from the outside of something into the heart of it.

Each session is closed and limited to a maximum of ten guests, held at a venue in central London chosen by Roger for its instrument and its intimacy. No two sessions will be identical.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Live Performance

Roger performs the original Interstellar organ score live, at close quarters. You will hear every note as he plays it — not through a screen, not on a recording, but in a room, a few feet away, from the organist who recorded it for the film. It is a different thing entirely to hearing it anywhere else.

Roger shares the story of how the Interstellar score came to be — the instrument, the sessions, the film and the moments behind the music that audiences never hear about. This is candid, first-hand and not available anywhere else. Then the floor is yours: ask Roger anything about the score, the film, the organ or his career. There are no moderators, no scripts and no wrong questions.

Play the Score

You will not need to be a musician. Under Roger's guidance, each member of the group is assigned one of the score's most iconic chords or notes (you know the ones!) — and together, you play a passage of Interstellar alongside him. It is not a full recital but to feel those chords leave your hands, fill the room and to be, however briefly, part of the sound with the man who played it in the film — is something that stays with you.

HOW TO BOOK

Booking is straightforward. Because every session is arranged personally around venue availability and Roger's schedule, there is a short process before a date is confirmed — but it is designed to be as simple as possible.

1. Send an enquiry to rogersayerorganist@gmail.com (or use the form below) with your group size and some rough availability. Roger will come back to you promptly.

2. Roger will confirm the session and request a 50% deposit to secure your booking. At this stage you are committing to a session in central London, on a date that will be mutually agreed. The deposit is non-refundable, so please ensure you are happy to proceed before paying.

3. Once your deposit is received, Roger will arrange a suitable venue and propose a confirmed date and location.

4. Once you are happy with the proposed date and venue, and have confirmed your attendance by reply, the remaining 50% balance becomes due. If a proposed date does not work for you, Roger will work to find an alternative.

5. That is everything. Roger will be in touch ahead of the session with any final details.

Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all bookings for The Interstellar Sessions. By paying a deposit, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.

1. Venue

Sessions take place at a venue in the London area with a suitable organ, selected by Roger Sayer based on instrument quality and availability. The venue is confirmed in advance of the session, following receipt of the deposit. By proceeding with a booking, guests confirm they are content with a London-area location and understand that the specific venue is arranged after the deposit has been paid. Some venues are working churches and may remain open to the public during a Session. Where this is the case, the public will not have access to the area around the organ, and Sessions are never publicised in advance.

2. Group Size

The minimum group size is four guests. The maximum group size is ten guests. Bookings outside these parameters will not be accepted without prior agreement from Roger Sayer.

3. Mixed Sessions

Roger Sayer reserves the right to combine bookings from separate parties into a single session, at his discretion. No session will exceed ten guests in total.

Individual guests and small parties who wish to attend are encouraged to enquire. Roger will endeavour to place them alongside a compatible group where sessions allow.

4. Photography and Recording

Photography is permitted throughout the session and guests are welcome to take personal photographs. Audio and video recording of any kind — including on mobile devices — is not permitted. This applies for the duration of the session.

All prices are inclusive. Optional add-ons (signed CDs, posters, and bundles) are available to purchase on the day and are not included in the session price.

6. Deposit and Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total session price is required to secure your booking.

The deposit is payable upon receipt of your booking confirmation from Roger Sayer.

The remaining 50% balance is due once you have confirmed — by written reply — that you are happy with the proposed venue and date. The balance will not be requested until you have had the opportunity to confirm that the arrangements work for you.

Full payment must be received before the session takes place.

Payments are accepted by bank transfer. Details will be provided at the point of booking.

7. Cancellation by the Guest

The 50% deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances where a guest cancels or is unable to attend. Once the remaining balance has been paid, no refund will be issued for guest cancellations. If you need to discuss a postponement, please contact Roger Sayer as early as possible and he will do his best to accommodate a change of date, subject to availability.

8. Cancellation by Roger Sayer

In the unlikely event that Roger Sayer is unable to proceed with a confirmed session, guests will be offered an alternative date and venue in the first instance. If no suitable alternative can be agreed, a full refund of all monies paid will be issued promptly. Roger Sayer's liability is limited to the refund of payments received and does not extend to travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred by guests.

The Interstellar Sessions — Instagram Giveaway Terms & Conditions

The prize: One winner will receive two (2) places at one edition of The Interstellar Sessions. The prize covers entry only. Travel, accommodation, and any other personal costs are the winner's own responsibility. The prize is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged, and there is no cash alternative.

How to enter: Entry is free and made via Instagram by (1) following @rogersayerorganist, (2) liking the giveaway post, and (3) tagging in the comments the person you would bring. Each valid comment tagging a different person counts as one entry. You may enter more than once by tagging different people.

Eligibility: Entrants must be 18 or over. The giveaway is open to residents of the United Kingdom. The winner cannot choose the date. In line with the standard booking terms for the Sessions, Roger will let the winner know when places are available, and both parties can work together to find a date that suits.

Closing date: Entries must be received by Monday 27th July 2026 at 2200. Entries after this time will not be counted.

Winner selection: The winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries after the closing date. The draw decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Notification: The winner will be contacted via Instagram direct message from @rogersayerorganist only. Roger Sayer will never ask for payment or bank details to claim the prize. If the winner cannot be reached within 7 days, a replacement winner may be drawn.
